Sledge to nursery!

Elsa was very happy this morning when she realised she was getting to go by sledge to nursery this morning. She wasn't so happy when it tipped over and she got a face full of snow :-)

Luckily she wasn't upset for long though as it was a great morning.

Note to self: its really hard to cycle through a foot of new snow, even if it is kinda' powdery :-(

Snow!

We were away at the weekend.It was snowing a bit when we left and when we cam back this afternoon it seemed they had got a lot of snow!

W00t!

Signed the contract selling the flat this lunch time. We got just a little bit more than we needed to pay the deposit on the new house too :-)

Now its just the packing to be getting on with :-(

I was down in Uppsala after work today and took these pictures with my trusty t630. Its been really cold recently and the river is a bit frozen over. Wouldn't trust it though...

Texas hold'em

The last week I have been on a course down in Stockholm. Yesterday, after the course finished at 1pm, we went out with the course leader for a couple of pints at Duvel Cafe. It has a really good selection of Belgian beers, which proved to be pretty strong. Needless to say we were feeling the effects a wee bit  when we left at 6 o'clock. Håkan, addicted to gambling, suggested that we go to the only Casino in Stockholm on the way to the train. This was my first time in a casino and it was a bit of a bizarre experience. Especially as it was early in the evening. I managed to change my 200 kronor start amount into 550 playing blackjack. The most I got was about a thousand though. It's too easy to say just one more hand and then lose a lot, especially when your a wee bit tipsy :-)

Cleaning :-(

Due to the fact that the flat is getting its first showing on Saturday, we have been cleaning it from top to bottom. I got lumbered with the bathroom, which is actually reasonably clean. However there is one little problem, the water in Uppsala is extremely hard. We're talking Vinnie Jones hard here. Stand still too long near a boiling kettle and you've got a good chance of becoming a stalagmite. So i have spent the last three nights scrubbing away at it. There is some effect but is hard going, and thats using the de-limescaling stuff. Its a bit scary really, it may be a while since I did chemistry, but isnt a pH value of  0.2 pretty acidic? I think I'm losing my fingprints. :-}
