TypePad, the site that hosts this blog have made some great functionality improvements overthe weekend.
The first is that you can insert files and images into the post without having to cut and paste HTML, not that this was too much of a strain, but seeing as they already did it for links and they are pushing Typepad as a WYSIWYG then it makes sense.
second is that they now have a FileManager which allows you to delete/change files you have uploaded. Why this wasnt in from the begining i dont.
The third and best in my mind is that you can now moblog even if you only subscribe to the basic package. As this was the only reason I had thought about going for the better subscrpition and decided it wasnt worth $40 per year, i am really glad i didnt ough up the cash now :-)

This was my first book by John Meaney and for most of the book I was pretty happy. It had a lot of interesting ideas about the structure of society and new types of technology. The biggest problem for me was that some of these could have used a lot more fleshing out. I had the feeling that somehow all these things would become clearer as the plot progressed but unfortunately that didnt happen. Still an enjoyable read by a new (to me) author. (***)Iain M. I am a big fan of Iain M Banks and this was the first of his books that I read. Its a pretty unique story and the scale of the environment is a good new slant. When you start reading it takes a bit of time to get used to the parts that are written phonetically. But its worth sticking with it and after a while you almost dont notice :-) (*****)Neal Stephenson: Cryptonomicon
This is a great book, especially if your even the smallest bit a geek. A good mix of face and fiction that is also humorous. Its not very often you get a blend of those that are as good as this. Big thumbs up. (*****)
